January 21, 1999. My wife and I were married at Cobb’s Mill Inn in CT. The kid who was supposed to be our videographer canceled at the last minute, and as chance would have it, there wasn't a single soul showing up at the wedding with even an old VHS consumer camcorder. The place was beautiful, with the soft glow of the old mills lights, the winter ice waterfall on the pond, our dance to a classical pianists magical and original music, the ceremony, our vows, all recorded only in our memories. Yes, we had a photographer, and the photos are nice to have, they capture the moments, but they don't capture the story. We truly, painfully regret not having a videographer for our wedding. I could have sent the video to my parents who were unable to travel from Louisiana to Connecticut due to my father's precarious health, and now, I wish I could have something that our children could watch. From first hand experience, I tell you truly, video is something that should never be taken for granted, so whether you have me or someone else do it, make sure you give it due consideration.
Fast forward to October of 2003. The more I explored video technology, in particular all the aspects of videography and the web that made high quality movie trailers possible - the more I realized this was no longer just a hobby. Ultimately, through hard won experience and discovering a love for the creative side of videography and cinematography I am able to offer a one-stop shop delivering videographer services; I cut my teeth on dozens of real estate property tour projects each with a huge variety of conditions and requirements. These had to be captured with the highest level of quality possible, to insure that I could deliver high quality web delivered video. I eventually started wedding videography services for close family members and friends which benefited from this experience. Watch the highlight demo reels on my site, or contact me for a DVD. if you enjoy what has been done for others, then know that what you get will only be better, for I am continuously improving my craft.
I am offering a professional broadcast quality production that is a combination of documentary style and cinematic. What exactly does that mean? When you watch a really good movie or television show, what do you notice? Hopefully nothing stands out but the story. Knowing what to capture during the event, making sure that what is captured is the best quality possible under poor lighting conditions, and capturing good audio is part of what you are paying for. It is in the editing where three times as much time is spent over the actual time spent recording, to carefully organize over a 100GB of raw captured clips of footage, selecting the best parts of each, cleaning up the audio and video and blending it all together into a story. The end result will be a compelling creative work and not an overabundance of slow motion effects, overused sappy music, soft filters, scratchy film grain or old film effects. If you see a lot of that in demo clips, watch them again and see if it's hiding shaky, jerky video, or poor editing. You want your story to be told in such a way that it doesn't detract from the experience of watching. That is what I am selling to you, good story telling through professional editing of a very high quality, wide screen HD recording of your event.
